Northumberland National Park still open despite Raoul Moat search
Parkland near to where suspected gunman Raoul Moat is thought to have been hiding is still open for business, tourism bosses yesterday insisted.
Northumberland National Park Authority confirmed the area around Rothbury, which is on the edge of Northumberland National Park, is open to visitors while the manhunt continues.
Police have lifted lockdown restrictions around the market town and tourist
accommodation, shops and visitor services are running as usual.
However, cars in and out of the village could still be searched.
The National Park Authority encouraged visitors to continue enjoying the countryside for walks and holidays and advised anyone with concerns to keep abreast of Northumbria Police's announcements in the latest news, or contact the police direct- 03456 043 043.
We'd like to hear from you. Send your stories, pics and videos to northumberland@ncjmedia.co.uk
