Rothbury Highland Pipe Band and friends - 4th World Tour

On Saturday 20th August, the Rothbury Highland Pipe Band, with their friends from the Glasgow and Neilston and the City of Newcastle Pipe Bands, to mention just a few, set off on their 4th World Tour of Coquetdale.
These now annual events, were started quite a few years ago as a thankyou to all the people of Coquetdale and surrounding areas for their support of the band over the years.
The title 'World Tour' started as a bit of a joke, but has now stuck and creates quite a bit of interest, so much so that the bus was so full that a separate van had to be used to transport all the bands equipment - they have their own roadies now.
An old London Routemaster kindly provided by the Chainbridge Honey Farm is the preferred form of travel and again this helps promote the days proceedings.
The day starts in Rothbury outside the Newcastle House Hotel, then proceeds to Netherton where well deserved refreshment is partaken. Then on to Alwinton for lunch with some additional musical entertainment by the travelling supporters on accordian, flute and fiddle in the Rose & Thistle, before travelling down to Harbottle, then Thropton before arriving back in Rothbury for supper.
A short video of some of the days proceedings can be viewed below:
