Northumberland County Council issued the following update earlier today:
Weather
Overnight most of the county has had about an inch of snow with some coastal areas and the south east corner having some 2 to 3 inches.
Temperatures have been very low with some areas recording at least -10°C and parts of the Tyne Valley were affected by freezing fog this morning.
Members of the public are being reminded they can access walk-in centres and minor injury units throughout the region during the festive season.
No appointments are needed - you can walk in to use any of the services.
Walk-in centres are available for treatment of minor illnesses or injuries without an appointment for all patients except children under two years old.
The following blood donor sessions will take place at Thropton Memorial Hall (NE65 7LT):
